My name is Sara Guadalupe Mendieta, and I am a Nicaraguan artist currently living in Missouri. I am 22 years old and an international student at St. Charles Community College, where I am studying to get an Associate in Fine Arts in Graphic Design. Once I graduate SCC I want continue my studies in Animation.

Art has always been a constant in my life, it's the only thing that has ever truly made sense to me. I have been drawing since I have memory and it gives me a reason to keep going.

Growing up in a culture where pursuing a career in art was often viewed as impractical, I faced many challenges. I remember my teachers telling my mother that my notebooks were filled with more drawings than words, often dismissing my passion as something that wouldn't lead anywhere. However, I was fortunate to have friends who believed in my work and encouraged me to continue. Their support motivated me to persevere and never give up on my artistic journey.

My love for illustration, cartoons, and anime has been a significant influence on my desire to become a professional illustrator and animator. While studying, I often find it difficult to fully express myself through traditional assignments, as I am limited in the topics I can explore. Nevertheless, I always strive to infuse a piece of myself into every project, using art to communicate messages that words alone cannot convey.

Art is my way of expressing what I sometimes cannot say with language. It is an essential part of my life, and I am committed to continuing this path, pushing myself to grow and create with passion. I want to be someone that my younger self would be proud of.
