ZERO WASTE
This project was interesting, I needed to create a relief sculpture with every single piece of a panel of Insulation foam. It was zero waste and it seemed easy at the beginning but when I eneded up with houndreds of mini pieces it's when things started to get intresting. I based my deisgn on the spirals from the manga "uzumaki" by junji ito. I am a very big fan of Junji ito and actually my first skecthes were a more direct reference to his work, however i neeed to simplify it since it was non objective. I keept the color pallete black and white to keep the manga vibe. I Incorporated every piece with the spirals and i feel it gave and intereting texture. I am proud of what i did and I will present this for the next student show.
ILLUMINARY
This was my final project for 3d design and I needed to create an illuminating object. I had so much creative freedom with the design and materials. the only requirements were that it had at least five planes, keep it non-objective and that it had a light source. I decided to go with a more traditional lamp but giving it the twist of also being a magical tree. to make it look natural i wanted to incorporate the aesthetic of Howl's moving castle movie, specifically Howl's room scene with all the jewlery hanging everywhere. although it was challenging place every single rhinestone at I loved this project and I feel I sucessfully bringed my skecth to life.
DRAWING OUT OF THOUGHT
For ths project i was asked to recreate an existing 2d illustration and transfer it to 3d. i choose an old drawing of a koi fish becasue i though it was going to be interetsing do the shape of a fish. It was made with a combination of 24 copper and 14 black gauge wire. it is aproximate 13 inches long. for being the first time doing something 3D it was frustrating but i really liked how it turned out.
